When I Think Of Research
When I first started this course it was very difficult to understand about what to do in the class. I was limited of knowing how to do research. In this course I gain knowledge of how to start a research and use the different methods to get a valid result of the research. This was a difficult course for me through my sickness I was able to do the assignment thinking that I know what I was doing. With the feedback from the instructor I started to understand better than I did at the beginning of the course. I gain knowledge that you cannot do research unless the participants agree with the consent to participate in the research. I also gain knowledge that if there is issues in doing the research how to address the issues by having concern for the participant wishes in not pressuring them to do a research if not willing to do so. In the course of reading I was able to gain knowledge about the time the research should be, do not pressure the participant by asking question that he or she is not willing to answer. I am sure that I would be able to conduct a research if I had to do one with the information that I have learn in this course. I have already did observation in the school where I work with the children that comes into the school that are not formular with different culture.

Research Around the World
I visit the website of Early Childhood Australia http://www.earlychildhoodaustralia.org.au that had very interested topics the early years learning framework-Getting started, learning and teaching through play, and the Updated issues that was happening in the organization. The surprising facts that I read was very interesting to me how the childcare was getting paid less than what the cleaners was making at the facility. I thought this was very cruel to the professional because the workers take care of the children and this is a great responsibility in dealing with early childhood children. It is a lot of work and someone should be a concern about this situation in the organization. The workers have to live, eat, pay bills and take care of their families. The situation was discuss among the workers that the childcare workers should be paid more than the cleaners. It was good that someone step advocate for the childcare workers to find a way to pay the workers more than what was given for working with children. Other information I found on the website was the media release on prioritise education and outcome for children in childcare inquiry, quality early childhood services must remain the priority as sector examines accessibility, and child care funding must focus on those most in need. This website had a lot of information to let researcher know what is going around the country just not in their area of researching.

Research that Benefits Children and Families
Children and families are very important to me I go out my way sometimes to help families that I know need help. Through out my schooling I have gain information about children and families that I did know that happens. I know a family that was having problem with her child that was not normal the child start having difficulty in school or with neighbors. I ask the parents was the child tested at the school for an IEPs which stand for Individualized Education Program that helps children that are have difficulties and learning or functioning at school or at home. I have work to help this parents with the situation of her child and gave her resources that would also help her and her child. The parent did listen to me had her child tested and he was put in the IEP program that will help him function at school. Now this child is doing better at school in at home he is having therapy every other Friday with the therapist. Mother and the therapist have work together to come up with strategy for the child that would help him. There are some errors that he still needs work on and I am helping the parents now to help come up with strategy that will help the child to feel love, and know that he is somebody and he can do better at school and home. This child is very smart can read at the age of 6 he does like to help around the house but the parents does not have the patient or the time to let the child do around the house. So when I go visit I would let the child help around the house, read a story to me or whatever he wants to do I will do with him.

Death Understanding and Fear of Young Children
This is my second week in my research class last week I chose a topic on death understanding and fear of young children. The reason whey I chose this topic because I wanted to know how could people explain death to children for he or she to understand it and not be afraid of hearing the word. I gain information that it is hard to explain death to little children for he or she to understand it and know that the person will not return. When I was younger the word death scare me because of what I had heard about it. At an early age I went to a funeral did not understand it until my father and mom explain to me what happen to the person. I was taken around to see the person in the casket and I believe the person that did that did not understand that it was scary for me so I start screaming and beating the person up because I did not want to see the person. My mom was singing in the choir and came down and got me this was very traumatic for me. I could not sleep had to have the light on and someone had to be in the room with me. I believe that a child at an early age should not go to funerals until he or she are older and understand what death is all about. I t can be explain to him or her an early age and he or she might understand and not be afraid of hearing the word death and understand why the person is not living anymore. It can be explain the happiness that the person share with the child and how the person is not hurting from being sick he or she does not have to worry about being sick or in pain or even sleeping anymore. Children might understand being told about these information that is giving to him or her. Sometime this can cause a child to behave out in a way that he or she are missing this person and him or her does not know how to express themselves on how he or she feels about the person dying. I learn in my research ask the child what he or she would want to tell the person about and write the person a little or draw a picture for them and find activities that will help the child to get through their grief. I am so glad that I did this research and gain knowledge on how to help a child through their grief and help he or she to understand about death.

Final Blog Assignment
This is my last week in Issues and Trend class I have learn so much about issues and trend in many countries. I have gain knowledge on issues that are in my town and in many other cities and states such as poverty, poor quality education, language barriers, healthy development and lack of resources. Was not aware of issues that happens in early childhood field this has help me to be aware of these issues in my career of child development.
My second consequence is who are the professional that help to contribute to the field to make it appropriate for the early childhood field? Are there real professional who care about the children and not just getting paid. I have talk to one professional that is very concern about her students in her classroom she work from her heart to make sure that her students have the education that is needed for the appropriate age group that are in her class.
My third consequence is I have gain is where does the professionals stand in the field of early childhood develop, what are the requirements, what is require of the professionals, what are the gaps in childhood field. I have gain knowledge of the policies and school readiness or in other countries and how the cultural affects children in other countries and their families.
One goal for the field is to have workshop, professional development as much as possible, newsletters, mentors to share information between each others around the countries and different programs around the states that will help promote healthy development for children worldwide and help to improve the high quality program for all children.

Getting to Know Your International Contacts
In my Issue and Trend class I was not able to get in contact with any professional in other states so I was not able to find out what quality issues are in their work or where he or she stays. When I research on the quality issues where I live I found alot of issues that I was not aware of all of them. In South Central Los Angeles there are schools that do not get adequate funding, and as a result, most of the students there can only dream of attending USC. The drop-out rates of students who attend public schools in South Central are unacceptable. A recent study conducted by Harvard University found that nearly half of the students at South Central's Manual Arts High School and Jefferson High School drop out of school. That requires a fairer distribution of resources to inner-city schools and a greater commitment to quality education for all. The youth of South Central deserve more qualified and caring teachers and more dedicated principals. We cannot set low expectations for our students or accept mediocre performance. Parent involvement is also critical to the success of student academic performance.
Where I work the issues is the language barriers of the Spanish children and parents who comes into the school and fill uncomfortable not knowing the English language. Once he or she know that there is someone there at the school that can speak the language and understand he or she situation begins to work out for parents and their children. Another issues is when there is not a teacher in the classroom that do not know the language of the children it becomes very hard for the teacher to teach the children because they do not understand. This is when the teacher have to come up with a strategies that will help the children to understand what he or she are saying.
Teachers are necessarily at the center of reform, for they must carry out the demands of high standards in the classroom (Cuban, 1990). Thus, the success of ambitious education reform initiatives hinges, in large part, on the qualifications and effectiveness of teachers. As a result, teacher professional development is a major focus of systemic reform initiatives (Corcoran, 1995; Corcoran, Shields, & Zucker, 1998). Teachers should always learn more on quality to have effective class professional development is necessary to have to share what you have experience and learn in this field of early childhood. This development would help a lot of professional in your community and out of your community the knowledge that you have that are coming into the field that do not know as much as he or she does.
Some of my professional goals is to get all the education I can get to be the best that I can be in my career of child development. I want to work work with families as well as their children to help in any way that I can to make sure the parents in children or happy with the school. Another goal is to be able to work with my coworkers in issues that can be resolve through communication and strategies to make sure there is not animosity among ourselves.
My hopes and dreams is to own my own school for all ages K-12 that is why I am taken early childhood courses now so I will be able to pursue this dream to make it come alive. This is something that I have always wanted to do because I love children no matter what race or cultural they are from. I have a heart for children and families I like helping people no matter where he or she come from. This is challenging for me because of many issues in my life right now with a sick mother that I never thought would have the disease of Alzheimer's this is my second around to finish college I finish the first time in college with a Bachelors now I am going for my Master. I am determine to finish my goals in life.

The outside link that I research this week talk about the quality program for early childhood program from ages 3 and 4 years old. In Southern California schools are working to come up with strategies that will help the families to be able to afford the quality program so their children would be able to attend school. The schools are coming up with funded ideals that will allow parent participation to help provided the education for their children. There were many states that I have read about did not allow children that were 3 or 4 to go to school at all which I thought was very sad. It is hard for parents to find good quality programs and when the parents find one they are turn down. I believe if a child is ready to attend school he or she should be able to attend. From my reading children who start early would graduate early and proceed with their education and be successful in life.
In my first week assignment the website that I read about Foundations of Lifelong Health are Built in Early Childhood the information that was provided has some of the same information that I gain in this week research about how low income families provides basic necessities and positive learning environment for their children on the wages of what he or she make on their jobs. Middle income parents struggles to make sure their children are in school without the help of welfare or any other assistance.
What I have gain about issues on this week about equity care, availability, affordable, accessibility, that there were many states and might be still some that did not allow families to have accessibility to their programs because of funding. Parents that was living in poverty could not afford the programs so their children had to stay at home until he or she had reach appropriate age to go to school. I also learn that some schools had the quality care but the teacher was not getting paid enough to enhance the program for the children to get the education that were needed at that time. I have gain all of these issues to be aware in my field of early childhood and know how to come up with strategies that would help me in my field of development.

My assignments this week I read about issues about children in different country that it is really sad is there anyone that really care about children and their well being? In my research I read about children in recession how children are living in poverty has increased by four million since 2000, and the number of children who fell into poverty between 2008 and 2009 was the largest single-year increase ever recorded. The number of children have increase 41 percent between 2006-2009 school years and many state are giving cuts K-12 education. Looking at this issue I was concern about how will this issues being taking care of and who is helping the family to come out of poverty. Now this is 2012 and programs are still being cut and children are having health issues because of their family being in a recession and can not get the help that he or she needs to help put their family in a good environment so their children can learn in school with out any of these issues on their mind. When I look at this it makes me want to advocate for the families to help get resources that would come and help the families. I do not like to see children come to school sad because he or she does not have a nice home to leave in, food to eat or clothes to wear. I do care about children and he or she well being I like to see children happy and not isolated because of the situation that their families are having. Sometime this also put more pressure on parents and teacher because he or she tries to make sure that the child is learning and happy and feel comfortable at the school that he or she is going to. Some professional make it uncomfortable for children when he or she or going through a rough time. Some professional just think about getting paid and not having a concern about the children developing or learning. As a professional I have seen children come to school not happy but by the time it is time for play he or she is happy. I try to make sure whatever made the child upset I will try to come up with a strategy to make the child forget what was going on by communicated with them, playing with them, reading a happy story that will make he or she feel better. I do believe that funds should be taken from other source not from the early childhood education program for children to have affordable quality program.

Childhood Poverty Research
In this week assignment I was suppose to get in contact with professionals that deals with poverty in their area. I was not able to get in contact with any one so I am doing the alternative assignment on childhood poverty. What I have learn in this research that children live in poverty everyday in many state. Many are living in a house hold that is below the poverty line and not able to take care of their family. I learn that in early childhood that malnutrition can damage a child learning and can also have poor health. This issues can lead from generation to generation unless someone stop and think about what is going on and try to change the situation from a bad situation to a better environment for their family. The help that is needed is not enough to help families children are still dying with disease in different country, staying in shelters are on the street. Where is the help to help these families? How can people help advocate for the families to get the support and resources to help the families get into a better environment? I believe if people really want to help families they will but families must want the help and use the information to put their family in a better environment so their children can have a well education and good health. If I could I would try to help every family that I could and put them in a very good environment and help the parents to get on their feet to better themselves to help their children have a healthy life. I do not like seeing family living on the street or living in a home that is not worth living in. Studying this poverty has taught me to care for children no matter what race they are if they are in need I am there to help in any way I can. This has also taught me to be aware of poverty around me in my professional field.

The organization I chose in this week assignment in early childhood development is The National Head Start Association which is a private not-for-profit membership organization dedicated exclusively to meeting the needs of Head Start children and their families. It represents more than 1 million children, 200,000 staff and 2,700 Head Start programs in the United States. The Association provides support for the entire Head Start community by advocating for policies that strengthen services to Head Start children and their families; by providing extensive training and professional development to Head Start staff; and by developing and disseminating research, information, and resources that enrich Head Start program delivery.
The issue that caught my attention is the budget cuts that could devastate the children, family and programs across the country. They are asking congress for their help to dismiss the cut so the children could have a good quality program and it would not hurt families or the programs across the states. I also learn that the Head Start Support letter to the administrator to let then know what is going on and the organization need their vote. The organization is letting the employers know that it is a turbulent time in Washington, DC. Right now Congress is working toward a budget for FY2012, and while Head Start has support in some corners it is critical that the organization made clear that the people of every community and every voting district in America support Head Start/Early Head Start and the services that they provide to children and families in need. The Organization have seen the effectiveness of bringing voices together to broadcast a simple but important message to Congress: Head Start works and people in communities value it. Today, as budget negotiations continue, NHSA is working to demonstrate support for Head Start from the Business and Faith communities.

Establishing Professional Contacts and Expanding Resources
My week assignment was to establish a contact with two early childhood professionals out of state but I was not able to get in contact with no one. I am hoping to receive a replied soon I am a person that likes to talk to people face to faces to get the eye to eye contact. But this will not make me stop trying to get in contact with the childhood professionals. In this class I will be study about issues and trends that happens in early childhood development. When I send that I was unable to get in contact with the professional I decided to look at the website on save the children as looking at what the do. I seen what the organization help protect children that have been abuse, neglected, exploitation, and violence in all regions of the world. The organization have child protection programs activities that create child friendly spaces in emergencies, reunifying separated and unaccompanied children with their families in emergencies, developing public awareness campaigns against child trafficking, piloting training programs for social workers to provide supportive care to families and children and advocating for more effective national protection policies and child welfare reform. There are so many issues and trends in our society today we have to protect our children from many abuse like prejudice, cultural/discrimination that put do to other people that is not the same cultural as them. I am not that why I treat everyone the same way I would wanted to be treated no matter what the skin color is we all have red blood. God make everyone in they are unique so we as professional should take time out with families that have language barrels help them do not laugh at them. Do not make fun at them if they do not understand what you are trying to tell them do critical thinking and find out ways to help the families to understand what you are telling them. As I gain knowledge out of this class I hope I will be able to help my classmate with more information on my contacts in the week to come.

My Support
My daily environments is to pray day and night, read my bible daily, keep a positive attitude. These factors provide support in my life when I pray to God he helps me and guide me in the right way of living. The prayer helps me to get through my days of work, home and in the community. It helps me to care about people and help them when needed. It helps me to love when I do not want to which is the right thing to do according to the bible. Prayer helps me to keep my head up when I am going through my test in trials. Prayer helps me to gain strength when I am weak in my soul. The bible is my guide it give me knowledge on how I should live in this world, it helps me to know on what to do that is right and what not to do that is wrong. Give me knowledge how to love my enemies that mistreat me. The bible helps me to learn when I do what the bible tells me to do then I will go to heaven. Positive attitude help me to strive for my goals and make a better life for me and my son. Positive attitude helps keep the negative attitudes out of my way to succeed in my education and in my life. My positive attitude helps me to show my son that a positive can get you a longs way where the negative can stop you in what you want to do in life. Positive attitude keeps my head up and help me to love myself for who I am.
Without these factors I would not be able to make it in this world without prayer, bible, and a positive attitude. There were times I felt depress where I did not want to be bother with anyone but when I prayed to God he encourage my soul with a word from a song or from the bible. Many time situation in my life would have cause me to have a nervous break down or I would have committed suicide but when I though about my son and about all the goals I had in my mind that I had to get a positive attitude to tell myself I could make it and I had to keep an positive attitude to make it come true.

My Connection to Play
What does the word play means for early childhood? Play
involves a free choice activity that is non-literal, self-motivated, enjoyable
and process oriented. (Wardie,1987). When I was a young child I played with
dolls, dishes, and games these items I learned by watching my family in what
was done around me. I played with dolls because I like taking care of the dolls
and made them look pretty with the different clothes I had to dress them with.
I like combing their hair in different styles how my mother or other people
that comb my hair. With the dishes I
wanted to imagine that I had to cook food for my dolls so they could eat and I
needed the dishes to put the food on. Then when the dolls were threw I wash the
dishes and put them up for the next time. My games I played with my family and
friends and I learned from watching them play with each other and myself. I
started beating my family and friends in the games that made me feel proud of me
and it gave me confident in myself.
I believe that play is the same in certain situations when
I was coming up play teaches a child to learn things on their own by
imagination, seeing others do something that might impress the child. Play
shows children how to share with each other and be kind to each other. It
teaches social skills on how to communicate with each other and learning how to
play and use the toys and different ways. Some children might think now that it
is not right for them to share their toys with anyone only they can play. But
this is when the parents and teachers can teach the children that it is okay to
share with friends and this is how they can be nice to their friends. Explain
to the child how they can be nice and give the children an example or how they
can share and not fight with their friends or family about their toys.
My thought regarding the role of play have taught me
through my childhood to now that it help me to develop my motor skills, social
play by interacting with family and friends and learning how to cooperate and
share with others. Be able to use my vocabulary skills in a way I could express
myself where I could be understandable. Play taught me how to be kind to others
as I do now in my life time. Some children are not taught how to be kind the
child thinks it is okay to fight, kick, bite or using profanity to get what he
or she wants. When I was coming up
parents taught their children how to play with other children, how to share,
don not fight your friends because when you get older you would not have many
friends and I listen to what was told to me.
I have seen children at the age of four using profanity at the school
with the classmate because the child got upset with another student. By me being a teacher I said it was my
responsibility to stop and let the child know that the language he was using
could not be use in the school I took time to explain why the language he was
using could not be use to the child and he understood and apologize to the
student.
Play also works as an adult because you can remember when
to play and when not to play. Play for
an adult is a stress breaker it helps you to be socialization with other people
you meet. You can be concern about other
feelings when playing with other adults some might take it personal when you do
not mean for it to go that way that is when the problem solving comes in so it
can be a positive situation and not a negative situation. But by looking at children you can learn from
them in how they solve their problems and they are back friends and playing.
With some adults it does not work like that some do not want to work out their
problems and it goes on until someone step in to be the mediator to bring them
back together.

Relationship Reflection
Relationship with families, friends, teachers and community is very important to me it help the child to develop a positive attitude in a good atmosphere. In my life I have several people who are very important to me that help me through my life's of ups and down who gave me a positive way to think and never had a negative communication with them.
The first one I would like to talk about is my godmother who I call mom who has been there to support me in whatever I did in my life that was positive. She gave me advice about my lifestyle and how to care about myself on how to be the best woman I could be. My godmother shown me love, she gave me hugs when I needed them. She treated me as if I was her real daughter even though she has a daughter she did not treat me any different. I did not know how to say I love you because my mother did not tell me or my sibling that she loved us. My godmother would tell me every day that she love me by her telling me and showing me that she did I started tell her back that I love her and I felt it when I hug my godmother. I can always talk to her no matter what she was doing she always have a listening ear. We have spent time together, we have went out of town together, and whenever she needed me I have been there to help her. The attachment is still working in my life today and I do not think I would have been what I am today without my godmother and God.

The next person I would like to talk about is my godsister Michelle, a wonderful person to be with she has been in my life for over thirty years. We have been there for each other through our struggles in life. Our children has growing up together and spending time together. My godsister have been a sister to me more than my own sister have. She has let me stay with her and help take care of her children for her when she had to work. When I needed her she was there to care, support me, give me advice on situation in my life. She share her mother with me who is my godmother. She shown me that she care when I felt no one care about me she could have said no you can not stay with me, no I do not want you around but she did not. She treated me like a sister. We always had a good communication even when we got upset with each other we was always there for each other. After spending time with my godsister she shown me how to care for people even when they do you wrong do not put yourself first think about the other person when I did not want too. I appreciate her for being that sister that I needed her to be. My sister is disable and could not do what I needed a sister to do and be. My sister could not drive, she could not go out to places unless she had help and I could not do it because she was paralyze on one side. At that point in my life I needed a sister who understood me, who would take time out to spend with me, and tell me what I needed to know as a young adult. I did not need anyone to be negative in my life at that time in my life it was a struggle for me being a teenager and not getting the support I needed as a teenager. There were no love from family members and my godsister was there to fill that whole in my life and she is still there for me today. She was the only one out of my family that could come to my graduation for my Bachelor Degree from college and I was proud to have her there with me along with her children and grandchildren. She is special to me and I love her for who she is in my life.
The last people I would like to talk about is my Pastor, and Fist Lady, at my church these two people are wonderful people of God. My pastor have shown me love and support, he has taught me they way of living right. He has taught me how a christian should live for God and not for people. This man remind me of my father who was also a pastor he care for people and their lives. He would tell you the truth no matter what people feel about him he is going to tell you what the Word of God said. He loves children and people I think children are very special to him. I have watch him when he is around children how is face lights up with a smile. He give out greetings and hugs and you can feel the love from him. I am grateful to have him as a pastor he helps who he can and do not complain about it and do not look for anything in return. My First lady this woman is someone that has been an encourager to me she is always positive and let me know I can be what I want to be if I put my mind to it and pray and ask God to direct you in the right way. She was a praying person whenever you talk to her she is praying for God to give her the right words to say. She was a woman that care about people and children. She did not have no respect of person she did not care what color or culture you were she care and love the person for who they were. She taught me to love people also regardless on how they treat me because God will reward me for my love and kindness toward people. She told me to show kindness toward people because the Lord said that you love one another as I have love you. My First Lady always gave hugs to everyone and mints at the door when dismissal was at church she greeting everyone with a smile, hug and a kiss on both checks. She has now pass away but her time she spent with me will be cherish in my heart. She always told us in church to raise our hand and she would say your are special and if you did not raise your hand she would still say your are special she would be miss.

When I Think of Child Development
No one has yet realized the wealth of sympathy, the kindness and generosity hidden in the soul of a child. The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure.
Emma Goldman
When I think about Child Development is to see children develop what is hidden in their heart that needs to be develop and used. Children need to know how to express themselves and used their unique develop in communication. Some children have the love, kindness, and compassion for other children and adult. When children see adults using their kindness, caring, loving and support this would help the child to develop the same action and emotion for one another.
As a child coming up I had the heart for children and adult because of the passion they show towards me. The adult show me love they care about me they supported me in what I would do or what I thought I should do. They gave me advice they show me I could express myself. When I got older those same develop that was hidden develop as I got older and I used them to care for others by giving help to children of every age what they needed to help them to be successfully in education as well as in this world.
Let children use their unique way of develop and communicated with you and let them see the passion you have towards children and one another.

Testing for Intelligence
I believe that the whole child should have things provided
to them that would help whole child develop appropriately. If the child is provided proper food this
will give them vitamins and iron that his or her body’s need. I agree with
Maslow Theory that food, sleep is what the child needs to function, and develop
successful in school as well as the world around them.
When a child first enters the school were I currently work
the child is assessed to see what the child knows or does not know. Doing the
research I discovered that Australian conducted an assessments with children,
the assessment consisted of intelligence, and is primarily conducted by
non-Aboriginal educational professionals.
The assessments that was conducted by Aboriginal was not always beneficial
to the children and sometimes caused harm to the children. There were many
issues surrounding Australian that caused others to conducted more research in
an attempt to fix the issues. The goal of fixing the issues with assessments
was to insure the children were assessed appropriately.
On my job I use the information to gather from the
assessments to help the child so that he or she will pass the assessments on
his or her level of development. Working with children is not just receiving a
pay check but also recognizing the child’s needs and make sure that areas is
addressed so that the child can make progress in his or her learning.

Children being Isolated
Children being isolated is a horrible situation children should be able to enjoy themselves with others such as school, and home. I had a friend who was always kept in the house or she could not go out of the yard to play with the children in her area where she lived. I would ask my mom to ask her mom if she could come over and play with me and my mom did and she was able to come over and play with me. She would tell me alot of times that she wish her mom was like my mom and let her do fun things and play with her friends on her street. When my friend became a teenager she ran away from home and call me to let me know where she was I had to talk to her to let her know that it was not good for her to be on the street and something might happen to her. When she arrive back home she saw a lady that she never saw before and it was a social worker who was going to take her away from her family and be place in another family environment. I begin to think are there more children in this world having a hard time with there parents as she was? Could not watch TV a lot she had to read books and sit and her room until dinner time or when she had to do things with her family which she did not enjoy.
More children have been place in home separated from their family and do not realize what is going on until they have arrive at a new place. The report, by the children's rights director for England, Roger Morgan, raises concerns about how ill-informed and unprepared some children are when they enter care.
Researchers asked 50 children aged between six and 16 about their experiences. Of this group, 28 had not known in advance that they were going into care – 18 of those were emergency cases – and only 13 had known about it for a week or more.
Some of the children had not visit their new home so they did not know what to expect when they arrive at a new place that was not their home. This is also Isolation for children they become depress, angry, self esteem is low and they feel alone. Sometimes they are bullies in the families where the children are place and that also make situation worse well the social and the motor skills began to build anger which the child will have problem and would have to be counsel.

Child Development and Public Health Week 2
Nutrition for children helps build their bodies to grow in the appropriate way. Nutrition also help the child to digest their food when taught to chew their food instead of swallowing. When the appropriate diet is given for the children they would not become obesity and will not have health problems at an early age. Junk food can hurt children if it is eating a lot this can cause children to become diabetic and be on insulin. This also can be control by a diet and exercise so that the child can still enjoy their life and not be on insulin for a long time. Nutrition is good for children only if it has the appropriate food to help the child to become strong and the brains to function right. I am glad that I did keep my son on a diet because of the illness in our family with sugar and I did not want him to become a diabetic at an early age.

Childbirth Experience
My experience in childbirth is when I was preganant with my son feeling him move and feel the parts of his body. My preganacy was not what I thought it would be during my preganacy I had gestational diabetes. So I had to watch what I ate and it was alot of food that I could not eat that I did eat before I became preganant. Before delivery I had to go to the doctor because my bag was leaking and I did not know what was going on. I had to be check into the hospital because the bags was leaking and the doctor said I would have a dry birth. So the doctor told the nurse once I got check in to have induce labor. I did not know what that was until I start having the pains and the nurse telling me that it was worse than regular labor pain. I was in labor for fourteen hours the pain was worse but the pushing and feeling him slide out was not bad at all. The doctor said you have a baby boy I was upset because I was told it was a girl but I was happy for the boy. When I say him it was amazing to feel and see what I have heard other people say about their child's childbirth. I did not hollard like I heard other mother's do in the hospital I said I refuse to hollard I would do like the Bill Cosby, on the cosby show I would just say contraction until the contraction stop. I choose this experience because it was real after seeing childbirth on television and reading about it I was able to experience it.
After reading article about childbirth in Georgia families can not stay at the hospital or be in the room with the family member having the babies. The husband has to leave as soon as the wife or girlfriend have the baby. Well in California family can be in the room with you because my family was in the room with me.

Codes of Ethics
In my reading for my week 7 assignment the codes of ethics from the NAEYC that are meaningful to me is P-1.3 We shall not participate in practices that discriminate against children by denying benefits, giving special advantages, or excluding them from programs or activities on te basis of thier sex, race, national origin, religious beliefs or other affiliations of their families. This is meanful because every child should be treated like a child no matter their race or religious belief. Education should be important no matter how the teacher feel or think it should be what is best for the child to help gain their creative, social, emotional and language development.
P-1.7 is another one that is meanful to me is we shall strive to build individual relationships with each child: make individualized adaptations in teaching strategies, learning environments, and curricula; and consult with the family so that each child benefits from the program. If after such efforts have been exhausted, the current placement does ot meet a child's needs, or the child is seriously jeopardixing the ability of other children to benefit from the program, we shall collaborate with the child's family and appropriate specialists to determine the additional services needed and or the placement options most likely to ensure the child's success. A teacher shoud have a relationship with the child so he or she will have confidents and feel comfortable to interact with the teachers. The teachers should always collaborate with the child's family to let he or she family know how they are doing in school and if he or she is not doing well in school the teachers should notify the family as soon as possible so the child can get the help that is needed to be successful in school.
Ethic Code I-3A.2 To share resources with co-workers, collaborating to ensure that the best possible early childhood care and education program is provided. I do beleive that any co-worker that want to help the program get better with new ideas should share the resources that he or she have acquirer to help the teachers as well as the children in the community.
The code of ethics for the Division for Early Childhood have meanful codes of ethics that I agree with. One is we shall demonstrate our respect and concern for cildren, families, colleagues, and other with whom we work, honoring teir belief, values, customs, languages and culture. Teachers should have a concern for children and their families at all time no matter what their culture are we should be able to interact with the child and families. Communication is the most important when it come down to the child they have feelings like everyone and they are human. Teacher should do their best to make sure that the he or she should get what is needed for them, and communicate with parents to let them know about the different resources to help their children.
Professional Behavior is another code of ethic that I read which is true we shall demonstrate inour behavior and language respect and appreciation for the unique value and human potential of each child. We shall watch what is said when a child is around it can cause a child to have mental feelings about the teacher and school. Name calling at a child should not be done at all the child name should be call what it is on the roll sheet.
The code of ethics should always be mention in workshop to teachers to be aware of them and help in their program for children. I would want to keep the code of ethic in my protfolio to always remember what should be requirer for the children and families.

Words of Inspiration and Motivation
Here are some Quotes that I have read from my Two weeks assignment and Fourth on childhood education.
Part of being who you are has to do with feeling your feelings, which means you'll have a wide range of emotions--not just constant sunshiny happiness.”
― Janet Gonzalez-Mena, Child, Family, and Community: Family-Centered Early Care Education
We hear the laughter of children dressed for a festival dance, the coos and gurgles of infants in their mothers’ arms, and squeals of delight as children skip rocks in a stream.

Passion and Motivation for Early Childhood
My passion that all children were taught environment in ways nutrient their ability to grow to the fullness.
Seeing the parents advocate learning how to speak up for the children. Learning how to write letters and tell their story.

Personal Childhood Web
I am dedicated this page to the people who nurtured me, cared for me and love me when I was a child. My childhood was not that fantastic as a child and I needed these people to show me that was in their heart how they felt about me.
Treadis Tyler was my father who raise me, love me, took time out with me out of his busy schedule as a pastor. He helped me with my homework when I needed help, he played games with me, took me out to dinner for my birthday. My father was always there when I needed him no matter what is was he never was negative towards me. I loved him so much because he influence me to love people regardless how they treat me. He cared for children and adults he would help anyone and I believe I inherit that genes from him. Education was the important conversation that my father and I had he always said to get all the education you can to make it in this world you can be want you want to be once you put your mind to it. I am glad that I listen and follow instruction from my father to go back to school to fulfill my goals. I have fulfill one goals with a B.S. degree now I am working on my Master degree to keep his dream alive of opening up a school that will help children and parents.
Helen Jones was a secretary at my elementary school she kept me in check when I got in trouble. She treated me like a little sister I work in the office sometimes with her. Helen nurtured me too she always invited me to her house and go on picnicks with her. She always show me she cared she will brings me presents for Christmas, birthday or just around the year. She had a sweet spirit all the time she would communicate with me until I got in trouble then she would not talk to me until I promise I would not get in trouble anymore. Helen influence me by the way she communicated with people and how she was a given and helpful person. Helen and I still keep in touch she still does me the same way she always encourage me when time got rough. She has been there for me in my adult life and I appreciate her for being my friend.
Joerene Brown is my Godmother I call her mom she shown me so much love and support when I needed it she welcome me to her home many of time. She shown me how to love I was a person that was not taught by my mother to tell people that you love them. My godmother made me tell her every night and had to give her a hug. Joerene taught me how to clean, cook, shop and take care of myself. She encourage me all of the time, and nurtured me like a mother would do her child. We spend time together, went out of town together. My godmother always have help people all over the united states and I could not understand why was she helping a lot of people. She influence me to love people and to love my son when he came into this world. She had one child I had one child, she does so much with her daughter and I have almost did the same with my son. Now that I am older her love has change to a greater love and concern it is not a month goes by without we seeing each other or doing something together I love her because she treated me like a daughter and would chastise me now if I needy to. I appreciated what she has done in my life to know that she has love me until now.
Michelle Brown is my god sister we have had good relationship as sisters we have had so much fun together. Michelle and I have spent so many times together down threw the years. We had so much fun in her home watching TV and talking with friends that we knew together. Michelle is a caring person who knew when something was wrong with me she would stop what she was doing and sit down and talk to me. There were times I babysitted for her because I love her children and they would call me auntie. She trust me to take care of her children and take them to school and pick them up. We have took trips together told each other secrets and promise to keep. Michelle has shown me to keep pushing no matter how hard it gets do not stop until you are happy with yourself cannot please everyone but you can please yourself.
Charles Ackles was my oldest brother who was hard on me because I was a hard headed child who just did not want to do what was right. He would talk to me until over and over again about my behavior. He would sit down and help me with my math homework all the way up to high school. He would take me to parks over his friends house to show me off to his friends because he said I was a cute girl. He would buy me birthday gifts and Christmas gifts. He would tell me to be good and do not be a smart mouth. I have watch my brother go to school and finish his degrees education was very important to him to get him where he wanted to be in life. I have almost made the same step to get my degree in college to get me where I want to be in this world.

Children's Book
Little Miss Muffet was one of my favorite book because I like how she listen to her grandfather tell her stories over and over again. Miss Muffet who real name was Elizabeth did not stop her grandfather or tell him she had heard the stories before. I read the story over and over again and realize that the spider was trying to be friends with Miss Muffet but she was afraid but the spider gave her a hard time because she could not find a good friend. This does happen in real life we try to find that person wo would be a good friend that would be there through your ups and down, who would tell you when your are right or wrong rather you like it or not but you still would be friends afterward that is what I call real friend.
Are Children Understood?
There are many children who are misunderstood from family and friends. Sometimes there is no communication or interaction with the child. The child might feel that he/she is no one important. How can the child or children be help? Is there enough people in the world that have passion for children to see the help of the children in our communities?
