When I think about working with children and families who comes from a diverse backgrounds it helps me to have more concern and be supportive in helping him or her. Children that has a diverse background need my help and support to help him or her to develop in their learning. Children that comes from different states and have a different language are not comfortable when the environment that he or she are in does not understand him or her. I believe that it is my responsibility to make the child and family feel comfortable in the classroom and in our state.
The goal I would like to set for early childhood field with diversity, equity, and social justice is to make sure that each child, families, and co-workers are treated with respect no matter what color he or she is. I want to be able to make sure that every child, families and co-worker have support in what he or she needs with resources that would help in any issues that he or she is having with in the school and community. I would want the children to know about different children in different states so he or she would know how to treat each one with respect in their communication and their interaction with one another.
I would like to thank my colleagues for your post in answering to my discussion and to my blogs. It did help me to understand my position when it comes to diversity, equity and social justice. This was not easy for me to keep up without a computer of my own so it was very hard to keep up with the post in the discussion and blogs. But I appreciate you and good luck in the next class.
